A downloadable game for Windows

Faux Update#01
Hey folks! I am Jakasaurus, one of the devs of Faux. 7th place in the Brackeys game jam is a huge achievement for us! We apppreciate all the feedback from the game jam and we are here to talk about the future of Faux.

Since the jam, we've worked on an update to fix some of the jank in the game. Platforming and physics feel more smooth and consistent. All code has been de-janked as well. Because of the speedrunning with the coding, a lot of our original code was not super organized.

We've started idea crafting for a new area which would be in between Limbo and the Cottonwood Forest (Area 1 and 2 in the jam build) with new mechanics. We also have started working on a save-state mechanic to keep track of where you are in the game so you can finish at another time. A start screen and pause menu with settings and credits are in the works. We will keep everyone updated on our progress on these tasks.

Anyway, thanks again for checking out our game or rating it during the jam. There is definitely a future with this game and we are excited to explore it with you guys!

A mysterious and mute protagonist journeys across different dimensions existing in past, present and future, observing the complexities of what once was. With the aid of peculiar time-reversing abilities, traverse three temporally-trapped zones while platforming through space and preventing time from collapsing on itself.

While jumping, time rewinds around you. Raindrops float upwards and moving platforms return to their start. Keep the timeline stable by ensuring time never moves too far forward or backwards.

We had a lot of fun with this "Rewind" themed game jam, especially for our first game jam and first time using Monogame and Microsoft's XNA framework. This is a work-in-progress. The first zone, Limbo, was our proof of concept and the following areas are our ideas for what could be mechanics in a more completed game. Be on the lookout for secrets in the levels and game! We look forward to what you guys think of our concept!
